Sclerotia cultivation with Frank - p. tampanensis * 2
    #18503360 - 07/02/13 05:43 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Since I had decent success with my galindoi jars I wanted to try tampanensis. A member was kind enough to provide me with a fresh print.

I moved the spores to agar in may and took a couple transfers from healthy looking sections.  I inoculated 6 jars of grains on the 23rd (with an agar wedge) and now the healthy growth is beginning to become visible in 2/3 of the jars.

These were all inoculated in "open air" inside my draft-free tent. I'm very pleased with the results so far.

Here are the jars, I'll update this every so often until the harvest in a few months.

Yeah but I'm going to do stones first which will take 4-6 months depending on how long I want to let them sit in the jar.

I have some p. galindoi I'm attempting to fruit right now. Keep an eye out in the marketplace.

Looks awesome. I'm a big fan of SS's method of using LC for sclerotia producers. A lot of times they won't recover from a shake, so starting with LC all over the grain seems to get it done a lot faster.

:brilliant:

I actually have some ELME ready for that very purpose.

I left some mycelium on my plates when I knocked up the jars. There are stones beginning to form so I am going to be transferring those to new plates. After isolating from them I'll inoculate a few 120cc LC jars with those wedges and make a big project out of it.

Tamp has always been my favorite stone producer.  Ive been trying to start it up again.  Ive tried 3 different prints all with no success.  I always got huge stones with tamp's hope you get some good results.

:thanx:

I'm pretty excited myself.

I'd been trying to get actual tampanensis spores for well over a year. Three different times my "tampanensis" spores were actually cubes

Thankfully mycomattie saved the day and here we are :awesomenod:

do you see any disadvantages of doing this in pint jars instead of quart?

Smaller yield, but other than that it works fine.

Looks like you've got stones forming on your culture. Transfer those. Those will be badass fruiters nine times out of ten
