I dont see why it wouldent work, they have almost the same mechanics, But i'm not taking the responsibility either lol... If you want I used this one time, get a coke can, put a little denatured alcohol in it, and light it is ghetto but it works for me, but i accept no responsobility if you blow you, your house or your goats up!

is it a wick lamp (like for oil or alcohol lamps), or a pressurized lamp (like for white gas and propane, either pressurized cannisters or a hand pump)? if it uses a wick, which i -think- most kerosene lamps do, it should be fine, but it might just be very ineficient for what you want to do.

Get a cheap jet lighter from a gas station. Good steady flame with no soot!

you can take a new canning jar and just punch one hole in the center, and use a cotton or other natural fiber shoestring for a wick, with both ends cut off. fill the jar with rubbing alcohol, and use as you would use the kerosene lamp. that way you don't have the huge unwieldly wick that a kerosene lamp uses, you don't waste extra alcohol, its more compact and you don't have to potentially ruin an expensive lamp, and you can always wash it out and add a polyfill filter for alternative uses at a later date

At places that sell candles and such, just purchase a glass candle. They fill (usually) with lamp oil, but you can use isopropyl alcohol instead. Or, like they said above, purchase a butane lighter (crack lighters) at 7-11, and any tobacco store.

isopropanol wont explode. The liquid itself isn't flammable/explosive, only the vapors of the liquid when combined with air. Even if you had a lot of vapor ignite somehow, it would be a quick flash, and usually not hot enough to set anything on fire.

Just get a shot glass pour turn it upside down, add a little alcohol and light, no need to invest in anything fancy, all you really need is something to hold a small amount of alcohol, no need for a wick, just don't have a large surface area on the alcohol and all will be well, but if you spill the burning alcohol and it spreads and burns you, your house, or your goats badly then it's not my fault, I"m sorry, and send me some mutton.
