Koyaanisqatsi

Has anyone here ever seen Koyaanisqatsi? I personally consider it the best use of film of all time and am constantly shocked that no one seems to know about it.
A little background, made in 1982 by Godfrey Reggio. This guy was a monk and quit to make this movie. The movie is entirely time lapse and the score was done by Philip Glass. Not a word is spoken in the entire film, except the repetitive "koyaanisqatsi" in one of the songs. The meaning of the Hopi word Koyaanisqatsi is given at the very end to tie everything together and it is ultra specific and relevant to our times. It may seem familiar because every discovery/ history/ national geographic show ever has copied it's style.
I bring this up because I was at a regional burn a few weeks ago and some people knew about it, but didn't seem all that impressed. I just wanted to hear some fellow shroomerites opinions on the matter. Are there any other fans out there?
Also the movie is intense enough on its own, but I highly recommend eating a hefty dose about 15 minutes before pushing play and then letting the mushrooms and Koyaanisqatsi creep in on you at the same time. You will not be disappointed!

Yeah, Koyaanisqatsi is pretty cool. I listen to the soundtrack way more often than I watch the movie. Baraka will inevitably be mentioned any time someone brings up Koyaanisqatsi.

That is true, but the guy who made Baraka got his feet wet by being the art director for Koyaanisqatsi.

Powaqqatsi
Naqoyqatsi
After watching these trailers I think I should maybe give the other two another chance. I briefly glanced over them years ago and then cast them out immediately.

yeah i mean i guess there are a bunch of movies like that so its not particularly unique, and i absolutely hate philip glass, and generally don't like the look and sound of old films in general so all in all i would say its probably unknown because who gives a shit.
edit: also any movie you watch after eating a decent dose of doses will seem awe inspiring.

It is unique because it started it all. This is 1982 we are talking about. I personally was -1 at the time.

one of my favourite scenes, i'm not sure if its from koyaanisqatsi, or powaqatsi, it's from the one that shows all of the modern world, technology, industrialization and all of that.
but it has this amazing song playing while it shows something falling from the sky. i can't remember exactly what it is. its some object falling in the sky, spinning and twirling, with a really awesome song playing. i know that sounds pretty vague... but w/e.
great films, i prefer baraka, timescapes, samsara, more nature driven sorts of documentaries though.

That is Kpyaanisqatsi, its a rocket that blasts off and then you see pieces of it break away and slowly fall through the sky.
