Bipolarity and intellectual masturbation

I'm so very tired of this war in myself. I often can't help but use my linguistic "prowess" in a poetic manner, I choose my words carefully, attempting to weave some beauty into my self expression. For no reason other than to craft something beautiful with my words, for the sake of beauty in itself. Then I look back at my writing and see nothing but intellectual masturbation. What the fuck.
Am I the only one who feels that intellectuality has a fundamental flaw of a pretentious nature? Or is it just that my possible bipolarity/low self-esteem is reflected in my perceptions of my own work?
God damn it brain stop being such a moody little bitch please.

All conceptions of the mortal mind, Simply distractive meanderings entwined. The consequent fallacy is that of intrinsic quality, A frequent cyclical flaw of individuality. As flaunt and flair consume all reason, Afflicting us with self-crafted treason.
What the fuck am I talking about? The human mind is wired to create problems which are then answered. What are these "meanderings" distracting you from? Oh why from the slippery notion of the present! What does that even mean?! The present?! The only place in which you create these conceptions is in the present! Nay I say! They occur in a place outside of time! The imagination. Shut up you pretentious taint. Oh my, how quaint.
^the fuck is this shit^. It's like an argument between my artistic side and my rational side. I know I'm not any good at poetry and what not, I just enjoy doing it. But this is how my moments of inspiration tend to go, not that this example was inspired at all. More like a slew of disorganized thought processes. I'm completely nuts aren't I?

Like dancer's made of smoke's miasmas the outlines kiss, than collapse together. Beauty in a singularity, than transformed, thrown into the chaos of unseen form. I reach out to touch her, sensual curves made of white smoke and she disappears.

Intangible tendrils of erroneous idealization, Extend outwards beckoning to all who might succumb, Convenient shards of abstract perfection, Need only hosts capable of insurrection.

So are the tendrils the shards or are they in and of themselves? I like that one better than the first. It actually goes somewhere. It takes an abstract concept, gives it a body and some behavior, even some desire. Makes it a little more human so that we can understand what is going on.

The tendrils are like hands pulling you into that frame of thought, and the shards are the ideas that come forth from being so.

Well I would say that is vague, illustrate the collision that occurs when the tendrils pull you in and the shards come exploding out from within.
I had a poetry teacher that said it best. Never ever tell us what you mean, only show us. Abstraction only makes perfect sense inside your head, outside not so much.
She also said to never use the verb "to be" in all its forms. Makes it a lot easier to write in a more active tense, which makes it easier to think about abstractions less in a narrative sense and more in an illustrative sense inside of your head.

Stop questioning yourself so much, as an artist sometimes we just need raw expression, try just writing and not proofing it all that much, just let it be homie.
