Haha since when has cymatics been shown to be junk science?

A journal challenged his hypothesis that thought alone changes the structure of the water crystal, not the results, and repeated the experiment without music, just based on intent of others through thought alone. This was not the original experiment..and therefore I will still pay attention to the results of the experiment. All he did was play certain songs and freeze the water and than observe the crystalline structure it represented, this is easily repeatable and this is not what was challenged.

This is an example of how scientists (and everyone) jump to conclusions based upon objective events/results.

The results of music (sound) on matter have been known for a very long time.

No I never said that. Why not take the time to read the posts carefully and see who and what I'm responding to.

Maybe you guys will know about this experiment too, I only know vague details. But I believe there was a study done that somehow measured the reaction of plants to certain people. The caretaker would come in and water them and what not, then another man would stomp in there and hack plants down with a machete. After a while the plants would know who was coming in and let off a "scream" at the man with the machete.

From "The Secret Life of Plants".  That's all I know about that one.

Isn't that the old movie with all the time lapses? I think I watched that once just to see the mushrooms and fell asleep.

Edit: I see now it's a book as well.

I'm referring to the book.  I didn't see the movie.

Rupert Sheldrakes TEDtalk was banned. In a time of backwards dogmatic scientism, this is to be expected, considering (from my little knowledge of his work) he does not follow the dogma.
From my little bit of reading, he says that reality holds memory in morphic fields or some such and there are informational patterns and a communication between consciousness and reality. Sort of like Carl Jung and his theories about the collective unconscious and archetypes.

Where did he not follow the scientific method?

Interesting, as I was trying to work out a theory for saying much the same thing. Only I was going to say there is probably an imprint of consciousness of sorts on all matter. That all consciousness leaves something like an imprint on matter, a memory of sorts, and this memory is accessible by all, since we are matter and we are consciousness, after-all.

This could also explain so-called hauntings. This is where certain people apprehend ghosts and ghostly events that are connected with a building, room, ruins, or location. As if there is some kind of 'memory' there.

You've never felt somebody staring at you before? What's the explanation for it?

one possible explanation is that eye contact was made with the same person previously, maybe for just an instant, say when passing by him on the street.  the conscious mind didn't really pick up on what was occurring in the present moment and so the memory was stored in the subconscious, only to have it resurface moments later with vivid clarity, tracing it back to the guy staring at you.

atheist-materialists are un~aware they live in a vast hyperdimensional reality unlike many indigenous healers, and psychedelic experienced people (who do not succumb to the reductive propaganda about psychedelics and psychedelic experience and the human organism and nature), and sensitive people.

atheist-materialists use their limited notion of 'logic' as like weapons against the darkness and mystery of themselves and nature.

It is the modern equivalent of mythical ancient solar-heroes busting into the Underworld with their swords and shields and seeing 'monsters' there (mostly female) which they want to kill.

the propaganda goes both ways, both the mystic and the scientist have to sift through exterior and personal
Bullshit to get closer to the root of things.

Oh no, how dare a scientist research into a field you don't like, conducting original research and earn a d.phil for expanding the knowledge known to us.

Too bad the world is full of fuddy duddy pricks that rankle you, op.

Here's an idea. Work to disprove his research, conduct experiments that show his theories are false then get it peer reviewed. If he's right, then the work you do will further refine and solidify the theory. If he's wrong, you'll have proven it, and then more work can be conducted into informational current and how living organisms receive/transmit the information.

You know, be scientific about it, rather than being a butthurt crybaby that someone would dare research into something that you think is superstitious mumbo jumbo.

Thank you for once again reaffirming you are clueless when it comes to scientific research.

Only the uneducated would fail to understand that it is Sheldrake's responsibility to provide valid evidence for Sheldrake's hypothesis.

Please let us know, in your opinion, how come the 'skeptics' who got Sheldrake's Youtube video of his TED talk removed--by calling it pseudoscience-- refused to a public debate with him about what they call pseudoscience, and that TED did not provide any other scientist of their choice to do the same?

Would you publically debate with him?

How can I speak to other's motivations?

Since when have I backed down in any debate?

However, depending on the specific subject matter, I might not be the best candidate.

Well then let me: They are freakin contemptible cowards, who do not even have the integrity to back up their slander against Rupert Sheldrake in a public arena, because they know he would wipe the floor with them!
