BURYING CONTAMINATED SUBSTRATE OUTSIDE

i did something very careless and contaminated about a dozen pf cakes. they're 80% colonized but have all sorts of different molds all over. i wanna bury it outside, but before i do that, should i dunk the cakes or will it grow without dunking them?

If they are moldy, you should sterilize them before opening and dumping.
The mold spores will end up all over you, your hair, your clothes, and you will walk them right back into your grow room.
Sterilize them till they are dead, then open, dump, and wash out the jars with warm soapy water.

The only alternative is seal them up well in plastic garbage bags (I'd double bag them) and toss them in the trash.

right... yeah, i will be very careful. this hasn't happened to me in awhile. i was making pf cakes and ran out of verm to use as the top layer so i split up about 4 jars worth into 12 and most of them got contaminated. it was a good lesson in how significant that top layer is when making pf cakes.
