Hello all,
While camping in new york, i was searching the woods under all the pine trees and i found alot of boletes scattered about, but since it hasnt rained in a week or so, they were all old and I couldnt get a print from them, but it was all good, neways, me and my old lady were wondering how you pronounce bolete...bowl-lay(all french like) or bowl-ett.

The professionals I've met pronounce it as bo-leets, with the emphasis on the first syllable.

Happy mushrooming!

Ahh, thank y'all...oh yeah, i shouldve did this in the first post, but i was wondering on what type it was (if possible from the crappy details)...I only found older shrooms growing, so bear with me:
-the shroom resembled the graceful bolete, except the stem was yellowish/white and had black (dirt?) lines on it
-The pores where light brown/tan
-tried to print, but no spores fell
-The cap was deep orange/red
-my allergies sucked that day, so i couldnt smell anything
-no bruising took place(if it did, it bruised slightly darker than it's original color, very unnoticable)
I know these details suck, i'm sorry about this. I figure it'll be hard to ID cause the colors on them might have been changed with age, but all of the boletes i found in the forest matched my details

---Oh yeah, most of them that i found were (caps) 2-3 1/2 inches across and between 3 to 4 inches tall, my ole ladies father said he found a cap before i got there about 4-5 inches across.---
