im about done with my first flush on most of my cakes, when i looked at them a lil bit ago the cakes that are done are very dry to the touch an a few of them are turning blue. is this normal, iv read that i should maybe dunk them between flushes. also is there a clear point between flushes? like if i picked the big fruits already does this mean the smaller ones wont get bigger an start to open, cuz thats how iv been picking them, as they open. its been about a week since birth give or take a day or two. i dont want aborts to rot an was reading its hard to tell when aborts are done some times when your new like me. thank you

Definitely dunk. The blue is bruising and will happen especially when cakes are drying out. Cutting fruits as they open is a good way to go about it. I like to cut all at once, or in two rounds. Cut all whose veils are about to break and those which are completed open at once. Leave the remaining fruit bodies that obviously have another day or two, then when they begin to break veil, cut all of those then dunk.
In my experience, I have noticed that as soon as we start cutting, fruits drastically slow in growth. A good measure at harvest is to remove all pins and aborts before the dunk. The next flush will produce plenty of new fruits.

They most likely will not get any larger, but may open. Pick them now. The potency and overall weight will not change much at this point. A flush is done when things slow down.

They're probably just not getting enough water to grow much larger.
What's your misting schedule like?

after your harvest try cut back on the misting for a few days(keep up your fanning though)and then dunk and proceed to your next flush, this well earned rest period will help your following flushes
