temporary RH drop, will cakes survive?
    #1844218 - 08/23/03 10:55 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

I had to let a friend look after my terrarium for the past week. It is two large tubs powered by an ultrasonic humidifier. He let the RH drop to around 75% for 6-12 hours maybe longer. He called me and I firgues out the problem and he got the humidity back up to 95%+ Will the cakes be ok, he said they still looked nice and white and fluffy. They had just started pinning and some were growing some moderately sized fruits. What kind of effect will this incident have on my fruiting? Thanks

yo the temporary drop in rh will most likely tell the cakes to start fruiting. subtle fluctuations are gooooood. like bigcaps said,"happens in nature all the time". they'll be fine.
