The only thing that doesn't include taking precautions is waiting for them to colonize, and even then I make sure they are in a reasonably clean area.

There are precautions at every step to prevent contamination, even if some aren't obvious.

I built a flow hood a long time ago, and use that for incubation, and mixing ingredients. Overkill, I know. My fan/mist rig is set up so the only air that gets in the box is heavily filtered. I take every precaution under $500, but only because I plan on doing this for a long time, and not just for psychedelics. Right now I have ten monos set up. If you are going to grow big amounts of edibles, medicinals, or psychedelics I suggest making good investments.

Every movement I make while growing mushrooms has keeping contams out in mind. From technique while doing agar work to massive amounts of FAE during fruiting, every step is designed to minimize contams.

How far do I go??  To the ends of the Earth!

Following the proper clean procedure at each stage is all I do.  The further I get into the hobby the less contams I get, probably from practice and reading the forums on technique.  That could make for a long list.

I think the top spots on the list would be things like flame sterilizing the needle between jars and proper pasteurization when spawning to bulk.
