2 day old hydrated grain....

I've got like 5 or 6 quarts worth. Soaking some fresh of 10 quarts worth tonight. Sealed the older up. You think if I was to add an mix in and boil drain and steam dry tommorow, the pc I should be ok? I'm sure consensus would be to just toss it but if the kernels are in tact wouldn't the pc make it all good anyway. I really hate wasting but if anyone with experience knows I'm inviting bacteria or contams I guess I might as well. They seem alright. No bad smell. But I don't know

Just toss it.
Too much bacteria after 24 hours. Hard to kill it all even with a full PC cycle at that point.
You could probably get away with it. But if you have more, I wouldn't bother.

I've got a question, explain the title to me. Is the 2 days old meaning you've had the grain soaking for 2+ days in a bucket of water? Or do you have the grain (post-soak) prepped in jars ready to pc, and wondering if 2 days is too long to wait between loading jars and using the pc?

^this - if it's the prior. If you're stingy, you can get away with it. I accidently let mine soak for many more hours than 48, but i still used it, with 100% success. Short answer, toss it if you can spare it.
And if it were the latter, it does not matter how long between loading the jars and pc-ing them. (At least in your case, the 2 days wouldn't affect it.)
Hope I could help, Midnight

Ah, my mistake. It should be fine to use if you sealed it up

If it's been sitting out in the open, toss it. If it has been jarred or contained, away from any source of bacteria (can't keep it from itself), then consider keeping it.
Bottom line, lean towards the garbage can.

I would toss it. I was in the same position last week. Mine exploded with bacteria. My lesson learned was to not soak wbs unless you have the time to pc ALL of it.
