http://blog.norml.org/2013/06/06/studies-cannabinoids-protect-the-brain-and-heart-from-injury/
Real-time PCR revealed a 10-fold up-regulation of BDNF mRNA in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) upon chronic Delta(9)-THC treatment, but there was no change at 3 or 24 h after a single injection. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15857384
BDNF acts on certain neurons of the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system, helping to support the survival of existing neurons, and encourage the growth and differentiation of new neurons and synapses.[4][5] In the brain, it is active in the hippocampus, cortex, and basal forebrain—areas vital to learning, memory, and higher thinking.[6] BDNF itself is important for long-term memory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain-derived_neurotrophic_factor

No, its just some information that you may not have already known or come across.
If this was anything but cannabinoid science, it would be mainstream.
None of this is really being promulgated openly.
Word of mouth.
Text of thought.
Spread it around.

Cannabinoids, sillycybin, ketamine...
all shown to cause some sort of neurogenesis (literal brain growth). They are like steroids for the brain, but we psychedelic users already kknew this, as we have really big heads.

Steroids shrink one's nuts to the size of raisins.

steroids yes, but these are not steroids, it's just a funny analogy htx provided for the new growth in the brain.
Did you see the first link? about the neuro & cardio protectivity that come with cannabinoid supplementation.
If you have a stroke or heart attack while you have cannabinoids in your system, you have a significantly higher chance of being able to recover back %100, cannabinoids slow down hypoxia so that brain cells & heart tissue don't die due to lack of oxygen during these events. Given the alternative, i'd choose to supplement regularly.
this is just another drop in the bucket for cannabinoid supplementation.

Steroids do not promote new muscle cell growth. Fail all around.

Isn't it obvious that they are similar in the ability to promote new cell growth, yet dissimilar in that they will not shrink your nuts into raisins

sounds really interesting but can you kind of summarize what's being found in plain english?

& for those hard on analogies...
it was clear to me that he was using the word "steroids" with the preposition "like" to vaguely associate the effects of "growth" in the human body....
Now if you want argue about the promotion of cell growth....
Steroid hormones pass through the cell membrane of the target cell.
The steroid hormone binds with a specific receptor in the cytoplasm.
The receptor bound steroid hormone travels into the nucleus and binds to another specific receptor on the chromatin.
The steroid hormone-receptor complex calls for the production of messenger RNA (mRNA) molecules, which code for the production of proteins.
surely...
you already know this, your just being a

You've been warned repeatedly by several different mods about flaming. If you continue to have trouble controlling your behavior, your bans will become progressively longer and eventually will become permanent.
How this plays out is 100% under your control.
