What is Eco-Egalitarian Spirituality?
    #1843448 - 08/23/03 03:15 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

Does anyone here practice this? I am interested in learning more, but I'm not sure where to start.

Thanks guys...

I believe it would be a mode of living in cooperation with other individuals within or relating to an ecovillage; they would strive for maximum interface and harmony with Gaia via raw foods, organic farming, little electricity, and other ecologically sustainable practices.

Perhaps an example would be the ecovillage of Pangaia.

hope that helps friend  peace

It is usually referred to those religions or spiritualities that are Earth-based (for example: Shamanism, Paganism, Wicca, etc.as well as some aspects of Buddhism and Hinduism).
It means that instead of living outside the natural earth, we live in conjunction with it. We are simply extensions of it's spirit, connections of it's life force. I am Pagan myself, so I see the earth as a natural "partner" in my life. I celebrate time in circular motion by following the wheel of the year, which is a symbol for natural occurances of life, death and rebirth.

This link might help explain a bit better:

Cheers!

Yeah, thanks alot guys for the information. I read some about it in a library and I was shocked how similar it seemed to my own outlook and perspective. Thanks for the link!

Thanks

Another very good website is www.belief.net
It is a compilation of resources for many religions.
Witchvox is an awesome Pagan/Wiccan resource, but if you are more Shamanistic, Buddhist or Hindu-based, you will find other sites are much better. I will say that when I began my path such as it is now, Witchvox was the place I met, and later joined, the current tradition of which I am a member. I support the site 100%.

Don't postpone joy!
