Pressure cooker help

I bought 2 pressure cookers for very cheap.
On doesnt have a psi guage, only a pressure regulator with weights on it, and one for 5psi one for 10psi and one for 15psi

The second i got from ebay, very cheep. only problem is its psi guage for some reason doesnt work. it just doesnt move. i know its at 15psi cuz i put the other regulator on the this PC and it wobbled at 15psi

I dont know why the psi guage on the PC i got from ebay doesnt work. But i did notice the only thing holding the psi guage in place is a rubber "airtight" fitting, and the psi guage that fits perfectly in the rubbered fitting hole. There is no nut on the inside of the lid that would hold it more secure, but i also dont see any steam being let out when i tested the PC..but they both run (according to the regulator) at 15psi just fine..
If i put the PC on high heat until the regulator starts to wobble, then lower to about medium heat, is there any possible way to know for sure that the PC is at 15 psi so i dont over cook my jars and what not?

Get them rocking then drop the temp down to a lower heat until its barely rocking. It will stay at 15 without overlooking.
On my stove... For the smaller PC, I drop it down to about 1/4 temp. For the larger, to just under half on the dial.
Run it with just water first to find the minimum temp to keep it rocking.

Are they the same brand? I would be worried that the first weight isn't properly compatible with the second PC.
Also I believe that the weights are a more accurate way to judge PSI, my all american says the guage is just used as a reference.

you can get the gauge tested at some place but I would just go to the maker website and bye a new one if it really bothers you not to have a pressure gauge.

Well to be comepletely honest ive never used a PC before this so i was just making sure. i looked through other posts but didnt get much info.
both the new regulator i bought and the old PC from ebay that didnt come with a guage, is both from Presto, so it should be dialed in right? if i assume
If a weight guage is better than a visual psi guage, then hell yeah ill just keep what im doing

I had an older presto starting out, and the PSI guage never reported correctly. Just used the 15PSI wieght and never had a problem.

Tell the ebay seller that its not working, IME they are generally very helpful.
