Am I letting these colonize right?

I posted this in the wrong board earlier with no responses. I just inoculated 5 jars of penis envy and 5 jars of ecuador shrooms. I used the PF Tek and I currently am keeping them in a drawer with a 75 watt fluorescent grow light. I am not using an incubation chamber however my room stays from 67F to 78F. I am covering the holes on the top of each jar with a taped down paper towel.
I know there are better methods to do this but this is what I am given so is there anything that I MUST change in order to keep this from utterly failing? Also in a drawer with a light how long should I leave the light on each day? I've heard 3 to 4 hours is enough, but the rest would be complete darkness, so opinions? Thanks a bunch! I am really excited and would appreciate any advice. Tomorrow I will upload pictures and an official log for further input but what should I for sure fix? Will this method in theory (assuming no contamination thus far) work or is there an absolute reason why it wouldn't?

This is my current setup (72F degrees) should I leave the light on all the time off all the time or on for 'x' amount of hours? Will those paper towel rolls work as a solid air filter or will the combination of that and it being in a drawer restrict too much need air? Will less air actually hurt the process or just slow it? Sorry I just need these answers bad :O

the paper towel is very useless most just leave there jars on a shelf to get ambient and not direct and intense lighting through out the day, 12/12 lighting is best but the natural light cycle from a room with a window will do.
again with the paper towel it's doing nuthing at all, if you think it will help with contams think again, as long as they have ge they will be fine

Thanks, what is ge? I got to keep these stealthy from my room mate so since they're hidden in a drawer they will need more light, no? I know fluorescent isn't better than sun but since my room does get light but not the drawer how long should I turn on my light for each day? It's just to dark and too risky to let my room mate see (he is not exactly drug friendly).

Don't grow in a house where people aren't OK with it. You put them at a risk they didn't ask for. If shit hits the fan, he will get charged with the same thing as you.
If shit hits the fan the other way, he's likely to call the cops on you if he finds it.
Throw that away till you have a better spot. Growing is already risky. You're making it much worse.

These are the TEKs I use. They're all as cheap and easy as possible, just like your mom.

Well could you at least answer my question about lighting with a fluorescent? I was planning on moving them to my brothers house after colonization period but I can do that immediately instead (he has been helping me with this). Regardless though how many hours a day should I leave the light in the drawer or in his closet on? I bought the grow light and regardless of the spot i plan on using it.

You don't need any light if you don't want while colonizing. Its more for the fruiting stage, cap orientation. 68 is a little on the low side. GE = gas exchange
Feel free to message me if you got anymore

So second opinion? Please can someone tell me how long to keep this light on for each day :p It's been on for an hour now so when should I turn it off and call it a cycle. 12 hours?

Light has been proven beneficial during all stages of mycellium growth. Mushrooms like mammals have a circadian rhythm.
You want ambient/indirect light(on a 12/12 schedule preferably) for colonization and consolidation.
You want direct/intense 6500K light on a 12/12 schedule for fruiting.

Okay got it, so I will turn off my 65k for now :/ Thanks! I will probably put them on a shelf where it will get a regular light cycle

So just to be clear the 65k is actually a BAD thing at this stage or just unnecessary? Because I would prefer to use it but either way does work for me
