So I haven't posted any updates in a while, so I figured I'd try to show what I've been up to lately.
I had tried a couple different WBS prep methods to find something that might be quicker than a 24 hour soak and a simmer to steam dry, but everything I tried ended up getting tossed. I've learned my lesson, and won't be getting creative any longer...

After my previous successful monotub grow, I had 1 leftover jar of spawn that I decided to try making a GLC from. I don't know what part of the process I screwed up, but I ended up losing all the jars from that as well. 1 1/2 jars managed to get to full colonization and I spawned them to a coir/verm/gypsum substrate, but it ultimately succumbed to a bacteria contamination. =(

My "serious" project was basically 9 multispore inoculated jars of Mazatapec that I have all reached 100% colonization and I've been using them as master jars for Grain to Grain transfers. Some of them have some really kick ass rhizo growth in them it seems. So far I've only used one jar, from which I was able to successfully colonize another 9 WBS jars that I've spawned to a Coir/Verm/Gypsum substrate that was pasteurized. Hopefully this tub works out okay.

That's a bummer!
I just threw out a tray that had a very similar looking contam. Although I know where I fucked up. I used liquid coffee in my coir/verm sub which I later discovered is a big no no.
Another possible cause could be the millet in the WBS I use. It never seems like the millet colonizes 100% like the milo and sun flower seeds do. It does kinda look like the bacteria forms around the millet poking through the top in my trays.
Oh, not to mention I knocked up my jars with an LC that I made from a clean agar wedge. I also later discovered that LC's are risky business. However, the grains all smelled clean before spawning so I'm convinced it was the use of coffee.
I'll definitely be going MS->Agar->Grains->G2G from here on out though.

What makes you think bacteria in the last pics? They look okay as far as I can tell.
