Waiting for all cakes to colonize? some better than others
    #18430654 - 06/17/13 02:38 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Some cakes are 70-80% colonized, while one of them is like 95% finished. I'll let them consolidate for 5 days before birthing but just out of curiosity, why would it be bad to birth/fruit the cakes at different times? all jars are actually labeled too lol #1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 lol

sgfc's work at there best with the most cakes you can fit due to the heat currents put off by the mycelium and the maximized number of micro climates.

but they work just fine with a few cakes in there you just need to keep an eye on visible moisture

wait 7 days minimum before birthing, you can birth each as ready but as cronicr says shotgun terrariums work best when at capacity. You can just wait till all your cakes are ready, the extra consolidation time that the faster cakes get would be benificial too
