Is this mold or mycelium?

Hi everybody.
I'm very new to this.
Got a few questions.
1) Theses glasses with inoculated less than a week ago. In your best judgement, are these (poor) pictures of mold, or mycelium:

2) I tried getting brown rice flour. I went to a health store, all they had were some "rice flour". If this is perhaps white rice flour, is it useless?
Thanks a lot!

The top one looks like good mycelium.
Not sure what the others are but I think the picture makes it look like something it is not

Well the two bottom pics are an attempt at taking macro photos using an obsolete camera THROUGH a cheap 45x microscope from deal extreme hehe.
Man, I would LOVE for it to be mycelium.
The blobs are completely white, and the strands all radiate outwards, the macro pics I hoped would show that.
Time will tell!

Please do. It will become pretty obvious if you have a contam in the future but for now... patience is a virtue

Well if what I have to look at is mycelium than that probably is too just your substrate is spread out... I think. What is your substrate anyway?
I just saw a crazy pic of some un domesticated strain that has crazy mycelium growth and looks like soap. Check it out

I see you still have the foil on. When I did my first PF TEK grow I took the foil off half my jars and left the other half on and the ones with the foil off did better. They colonized faster and thicker. They need that FAE. As long as you have a dry verm layer and you don't mess with them all the time and shift that layer they won't get a contam

I'm using the substrate as shown in the first "Let's Grow Mushrooms" video.
2 parts vermiculite 1 part water 1 part whole grain rice flour, I guess that's equal to brown rice flour.
The glasses are very small, only 2 deciliters, I think.
And unfortunately, they are not smooth on the inside, but at least the mouth is wider than the bottom, so I hope the cakes will slide out. Worst case I have to crack them open.
I followed the advice on getting some fresh air to them, I created a "lifted lip" on the foil to allow some circulation. I'm concerned about contamination though. I have to move them onto my desk to get light, and then back into my closet every day, not having them sealed creates a risk.

If your still not sure when full colonization happens, smell it. If it smells of anything other than fresh mushrooms then its contaminated.

gotcha. I must just have a lot finer vermiculite since mine barely has any gaps and looks almost too dry. =/

Things are going well, the growths are spreading.
I made 6 glasses. One has like 6 blotches that are growing and merging.
Two have 2 blotches each, growing.
The grows are very fine strands, pure white, radiating in all directions from the center. Looks good to me!
But 3 glasses show nothing as of yet. It's been.. 9 days?
I think I may have been sloopy at aiming the syringe towards the walls of the glass, so the mycelium may be growing closed to the core. I hope so.
Pictures coming in 3-4 days! Very happy with this so far.
PS: I do not live in the US. I asked for Vermiculite and Perlite in stores, and they looked at me like I was an alien. I had to order online. I may be using very large grained verm, which is why it looks different from many others.
