First Growth Success

This is the result of not only my first bulk grow, but first grow altogether. Spores and sub was purchased from sponsored vendors. The strain is PES Hawaiians.

I managed to get almost 40g dry from the first flush. However, the sub contaminated soon after. Still, not bad for my first grow.

What happened? What type of mold? Did you unnecessarily open it?

It was cobweb mold. I think what happened was I didn't let it drain well enough after I dunked it after I harvested the first flush.

Cobweb mold can be fixed with a spray of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Next time post a pic before dumping the entire project. It might have been fine...

Looks great!
Did you end up manually fanning alot, looks like you don't have any holes in your fruiting chamber. More FAE would probably help with your mold problem too.

Yeah, I usually fan every few hours. I think where I messed up was that I dunked the sub before I left for a weekend trip, so it didn't get fanned for two days.

It's cool, he didn't offend me, and I hope I didn't offend him either. I really would like to plug the two vendors where I got my spores and sub, but since I can't I just did the next best thing.

Thanks for all the support. I'm about halfway through my second grow, Treasure Coast, which are just beginning to pin. I will post results as I get them.

Are you sure it wasn't aerial mycelium because of lack of FAE? Because it's possible, I believe they look "similar".

Cobweb mold looks nothing like aerial mycellium.

I don't know 100% what it exactly was, but it didn't appear to look like healthy cube mycelium, so I just decided to be safe than sorry and pitched it. True, it may have been nothing and I wasted a couple more flushes, but at the same time it could've been a contam.
