Yeah, it's the valve that comes with the sterilizers. It can replace the rockers in the AA pressure cookers (BUT NO OTHER BRANDS SHOULD EVER BE MODIFIED!!!) It doesn't really make any noise at all after the sound of the initial release of steam.
The way they work is you load your PC, flip the switch down and turn the heat on. Once you get 1 PSI, you flip it up then watch the gauge till you get 15-20 PSI, depending on what your model is designed for. Adjust your heat to stabilize then set a timer. When the timer goes off, cut the heat and let it cool. The sterilizer valve creates a vacuum in your PC, so all the air trapped inside is sterile.
I may have it backwards about which way the valve is flipped, it's been a long time since I've used one, and I'm drunk, so double check that, but the procedure is definitely right.

These are the TEKs I use. They're all as cheap and easy as possible, just like your mom.

Well I put a AA rocker on a 1913 pressure cooker a long time ago and wait well it was not like a regular rocker but it was not this valve anyway that peace worked on my oldie but a goodie. I don't see why it wouldn't work on my presto, I believe there is only one thread size.

AA's are designed to have interchangable parts with other AA's. They're not designed to be interchanged between other brands.
Think about it this way: you're trying to modify a pressure bomb. Do you want to even fuck with it if you don't have a full understanding of the concepts behind what's going on?
There's a lot of R&D that goes into the design behind these things. And for good reason, they can be dangerous.

I only did it because someone told me they interchangeable and that there is only one thread size.
So I placed the order and when it arrived I held them next to each other and the thread gaps were equally spaced and it threaded rite in. It has worked without incident hundreds of times thus far.
On my presto's they look just like the same type as far as I can tell.
