Golden Teacher ..... and grains???

Attempting golden teachers on some grain mycobags. Having some problem with colonization. I have read that golden teachers flourish on CERTAIN grains. Do you think I somehow have the wrong grains or something? No smells of contamination to my knowledge. Just the funky smell of the grain. Little or no mycelium .... any comments?

gt's like most p.cubensis will thrive with a properly prepared grain substrate. which one are you using? if you bought the mycobags that are ready for innoc, then it should be good. What are the conditions that you are keeping the bag in? give it at least a couple days (week?) or even longer in some cases before you see mycelia.

I tried GT on various grain types... They all worked fine!.... I repeat both Rohypnol's & soochi's questions and add "how much spore sollution did you use? What size are the mycobags".... They should be fine anyway if the spores innoculated were healthy... Even if you inoculated a small amount, they should be fine... Just some more patience is needed...

Im pretty sure the 4 bags I originally got were old or something. They were definetely TOO DRY. The last 2 bags I just recieved were MUCH more moist and are already colonizing!!!!!!!! In under 11 days too. Im sorta pissed now, I mean there is a possibility it was the spores.
Which brings me to my next question. Does anyone have information regarding the postal system using rays to kill the spores? Or machines affecting the spores? I have heard about this recently, wondering how true it is.
They were from Ralphster, I would assume they are good.
Most likely some shiesty dryed out bags.

I believe Ainasko reported about the postal service scanning mail and adversely affecting spores, do a search I'm sure it's still floating around.

The postal service does not have the money for spore zapping rays....yet. Besides i'd be pissed when my portabello spores get killed for no reason, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Really? The postal service makes billions of dollars a year, my father works in one of the biggest mail processing plants in the U.S and said they have already installed state-of-the-art mail scanners, and will be updating other sorting/routing machinery. There purpose is obviously not to zap spores but through the scanning process may affect them nonetheless.

I would be more worried about the intense heat on the mail truck and bins, and it sitting in your mail box. (unless its winter)
