Why Did This Happen To My Substrate?

What's going on here? This was MS Maz > rye spawned to poo/verm. I would love to know definitively how this happened, and how I can avoid it in the future.

I appreciate the responses, but I just have to get some answers. I had a perfectly good looking rye jar, and a perfectly good smelling substrate, and this is what I got. Could it have been a bad syringe from the get-go?

First flushes can be blobs from any number of strains, from what I've experienced (wild texan, PE) and seen...
Wait it out??

Mutant blobs. Why are you trying to fruit a substrate with condensation all over the sides and no air exchange provision? Polyfill won't give proper air exchange at all. It can help with gas exchange during colonization, but if you want that to have a chance, pick the blobs off and air it out. Place in direct sun for a few minutes a day until it pins. Leave the polyfill out and mist as necessary.
Now, the above is assuming it doesn't smell like dirty socks. If that's the case toss it out.

I haven't really been actively monitoring the tub, what with all the mutant blobs. I'll take the polyfill out, at least. It doesn't smell particularly bad or anything, and there are some non-mutant pins that have emerged. But I would love for anyone to tell me what the cause of this mutation is, unless that's not possible to determine.

Pick blobs off as soon as you see them so new fruits can come in normally. Leave the substrate alone for a week or two after full colonization before exposing to fruiting conditions to cut down on that problem. RR

so after colonization, if it has condensation on the sides and beads of water on the surface, one should not put polyfil in the holes until it has all evaporated and the substrate has consolidated?

Not sure why anyone hasn't adressed the elephant in the room yet.... What fruiting method are you using?
If this is a monotub you should reconsider your setup because those holes are way too small for FAE. Even if you did take the polyfil out it wouldn't be enough FAE because there aren't enough holes. Just go with the standard tek and drill 4 large holes in the bottom tightly stuffed, and 2 large holes on the top loosely stuffed.

Because it's pretty obvious that it's a SGFC/monotub hybrid that was stuffed with Poly.

Oh well I guess it wasn't as obvious for me. It didn't really specify in the OP so I like to clarify things before I make assumptions.

wtf is up with that polyfil in the picture? it looks like it was sculpted after it was put through the whole or some shit.
