2 solid weeks and no colonization on my WBS
    #18415374 - 06/13/13 06:48 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

Two weeks and some change have gone by.. My master grain jars (or what would have been) haven't taken off at all. I'm not sure what happened or why but there's been no growth. This isn't the first time this has happened. It's incredibly frustrating. My grains look okay, they have GE and I let them cool down.. And yet no growth.

Aside from the masters I have some regular MS jars I was going to use for my next tub, and only half of those are showing any growth. More than anything I want an explanation. I feel like I've followed the teks, and I'm just dumbfounded as to the lack of growth..

Anywho, I was thinking about re-inoculating possibly, or using the grains for something else. I'm not sure if I should just toss them or use them. Any and all advice is appreciated.

2 weeks with no growth basically means your spores were not present in the syringe, or not viable.
I would simply reinoculate with a different syringe.

If all else fails,
Grains make great fertilizer for plants, just mix it with soil, bacteria and fungi will break down the grains and release fertilizer for the plants.

I should probably make sure that I shake the syringes before noculation to spread them out.. I never think about that. :facepalm3:
