humidity pinning.....fruiting does it really matter or is 90-100 ok?

does it really make a big difference between pinning and fruiting or is it fine if i maintain 90-100 the whole time. And I've read the analog hydrogemeters aren't accurate above 90%. Can i have too much humidity?
and when I first start my chamber the humidity is 40%? I have an airstone/mister setup. I have to run for quite a while to reach 90+ percent. Should I just do 15 minute intervals every 4 hours to gradually reach this point or just leave it on non-stop till it reachs and then do the intervals? I just don't want to over humidify.

you should watch the substrate surface to tell wether its to much humidity or not. the surface should be covered in beads of waters along the surface.. if those beads lose tension and the water becomes pools, it's to wet. If you see those beads on the surface you can feel safe knowing that it's near perfect humidity at the surface of the substrate, which is where you want it.

thanks for the reply. it seems hard to see in because the sides get foggy. I haven't put in cakes yet though. That's just a test run with no perlite and no brf cakes.

Humidity is secondary. The most important thing is fresh air exchange. If there's a fog then the mushrooms won't grow properly. Build a shotgun terrarium and you'll have the correct parameters. RR

the problem is I am gone ALL day and night. I built an auto terranium with aquarium pump and mister. If it isn't sufficent FAE I may convert it to a shotgun attached to the pump and mister.

i bet if you build SGFC, it will work better unattened than w/e your trying to build

Yeah, a SGFC is designed to mostly be left alone. No pump or electric mister required.

Build a shotgun terrarium, it will do fine with minimal care, misting and fanning 4-5 times a day is recomended but if you can only do that now and then its fine.
Monotubs are a great set it and forget it fruiting chamber, though i do recomend spawning to bulk (you could just crumble your cakes into them but while your at it might as well spawn to bulk)
and if you dont want to do it on a bulk scale you can do mini monos like this

I use 1 small grain jar (400ml) to 2 bulk jars of substrate. they dont all perform like that due to genetic variation form working with spores (my other tub only put out half that and another is looking to be the same) but still a pretty good method.

MonoTUB, not tube.
Automated FCs suck. Do a SGFC, monotub or GH.
