Lol, that's completely unnecessary. Even if you live in the desert, you should have to moisten your perlite twice a month, tops. And you wouldn't do it with a turkey baster (where the hell did you even read that?) you would pull the perlite out and run water over it, like you did to begin with.
Other than that, your misting should also put some water back in the perlite, although it's a relatively small amount.

What I was actually saying was that my first 2 grows very done successfully using premade jars. This time I'm making my own jars.

Way too much water in your FC. You can just rinse perlite in water and bleach(I like to use bleach for this) rinse the bleach off and leave it just like that in your FC and only have to add water every 2-3 months. Its pretty self sufficient

If it makes you feel better to use your baster go ahead whatever, just not as often. Just letting you know in the lab, the inside of the bulb is never to touch any liquid because it harbors bacteria. Keep the liquid on the plastic you see.

It won't matter. Everything should be fully colonized and you should have enough FAE that bacteria isn't much of a problem.
The problem with using a turkey baster is that you'll end up oversaturating it. It's best to just put it in a colander and run water over it.
