In Australia, we would say that the Blackfish has a gob that only it's mother would love!! It's funny how a lot of the tastiest fish in the ocean are sometimes some of the ugliest!!
And thanks for the compliments on the Marlin reality check, itching for this summer to come now. Can't wait to get out and chase a few billfish and make some more footage!!

Spotted bass caught out of Lake Lanier this summer, 1.2 lb's shy of the lake record. This thread is awesome

Some North Carolina largemouth, the biggest one is 8 pounds, one on far right is a small mouth.
Most anyone outside the south may laugh, but I loved catching this Wall eye in north carolina mainly because I didn't realize they stocked em this far south. Man these suckers taste good.

that bass was over 3 and a half foot long ( 43 inches ) and weighed close to 40 lbs
I am 6 foot tall for reference.

Its one of the biggest Stripers I Have caught.
Holy fcking shit dude! I need to go saltwater striper fishing ASAP

Going through a boat upgrade at the moment guys, going to a 15 foot half cabin which will be nicer than the open runabout I have at the moment. Will be more suited to chasing Marlin and fishing the waterway I currently fish (gets choppy as fuck in more than 10 knots of wind)
Will post pics when I can, still gotta go and get it. It's also been fixed up since the pics I have were taken. Will be a sweet little machine!!

Hey guys,
Snuck up to Sydney for the weekend to go for an early season troll and see if we can find a Marlin. We had a bite early, hooking a little 130lb Black Marlin on 50lb tackle. The first-time angler spent about 5 minutes on the fish and got a good view of it as it spent a good deal of the fight near the boat and out of the water. Eventually we had a couple gaffs in the fish and had it on the deck.
This is only the second billfish to come back to the dock with us in the last ten years or so, the only other one being in March 2011. We really weren't too keen on keeping a fish, but the angler has spent a lot of money previously trying to chase them with no luck and offered to pay the day's expenses if we could get him one to take home. This is usually against our views but the fish wasn't a trophy size fish and everyone was happy to take some home to eat. Got some in the smoker right now, should be good!!

30lb Bull Mahi Mahi caught on Sunday, lil bugger went absolutely apeshit when he came in the boat. Check out the footage, lots of blood (even though the camera doesn't do it justice). Fine chewing as well.

Leaving for the airport to fly to an area a few hours north of Sydney for a big gamefishing tournament, reports of Blue Marlin up to 600lb around and we're only fishing 50lb gear. Ohhh yeah, we got balls hahaha

250lb Blue Marlin we got on the weekend, only fish for 2 days. Tough conditions out there for finding any fish, we were lucky to get this one.

Australia, an area a few hours north of Sydney and about 30 miles off the coast. Was a bit disheartening with the reports of Blue fellas up to 600lb being around. We probably found one of the smallest Blues that weekend hahaha
Little bastard also broke the 400lb leader, took $150 in lure/hooks/rigging and fucked my hand up good. Got a tag in him though so it still counts!!

Here's my best night so far this year in San Diego. All animls were collected by hand while freediving.

Pacific Coast Cabezon

Not a Cabezon but a Buffalo Sculpin (Enophrys bison). Very little meat but still tasty. You can catch those by hand SCUBA diving. Just grab for the head and the horns lock between your fingers.

I have yet to find the pike fishing spots in Colorado where I now live. Rest assured, I will! Those were South Dakota caught.

Ha! Good to know. Thanks for the info. Just assumed it was a small Cabezon. Surf casting around some rocks and brought him in first cast, on as soon as my line hit the water. I really wanna free dive to do some spear fishing... watching guys bring in a full line of big lings and what not... Its very inticing!
