To what extent does sensitivity to psilocybin vary?

I consider myself pretty damn sensitive to psilocybin. Its nice... economically speaking. It sucks to be tripping balls off 2.5 grams and have people doubting you, but whatever. My friend took 2.5 grams while I took 1.7, and judging by our discussions during the trip, we both agreed that we were probably tripping at an equal level. Thats a pretty big variation in dose. Anyone here especially sensitive / resistant to mushies? Why is that? Is it physiological, mental, both? Or am I just a puss?

It depends greatly on many factors, size, weight, body fat, contents of stomache, etc. so 1.5g for a small guy on an empty stomache could be similar to 2.5 for a bigger guy or someone who just ate.

more than body weight I think it has to do mental / emotional state. I've tripped wayyy harder off a few grams then I have off of heroic doeses at times. I'm also kinda "crazy" or "unstable" or "histrionic" or something. I think it has to do with that in some kind of mystic manner.

I think I might be over-sensitive to shrooms or there might be something else wrong with me. I've tripped three times and they all resulted in a bad and really intense trips. I also can't remember much of the peak. I had egoloss and couldn't remember that I had taken a substance. The lowest dose was 2 grams I think. I have been reluctant to try shrooms again with lower doses.
Well at least I can enjoy Salvia.

It can vary quite a bit, as with any psychedelic. What you describe doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me... personally I've tripped harder off 1.5 grams on a relatively empty stomach than I did off 7 grams on a completely empty stomach. It all depends on the person and your state of mind... also, trips can be more visual or more mental depending on the person and their mindset.

They're probably a homegrown batch... which tend to be way more potent then commercial batches aka shitty shrooms. It's definitely up to several variables though.

i think i have a pretty high tolerance for hallucenogens. i ate an eighth of shrooms on an empty stomach and nothin happened..they were good shroms i found out later.
ive also had LARGE doses of nutmeg (20g extracted PLUS 20g powder) with little to no effect.
what do you guys think? is it possible to have a high tolerance for just hallunicogens or am i tlaking out of my ass? i have a pretty normal tolerance for weed, im sure of that.

you could just be a hardhead, i dunno. how do you know they were good mushies? and as for the nutmeg, stay the fuck away from that shit, mysticrin (or whatever the active chem is) is a carcinogen at high doses i do believe. Also its definately not worth it imo.
