Case or not?
    #1838455 - 08/21/03 08:46 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

AFOAF had his first cake ever not lost to contams, he's considering casing it, but he's not sure if it's risky. What do you think? If casing is the way, what should he use?

Try plain, damp, sterilized vermiculite. One cake isnt very much though. I would just dunk, roll in moist verm, apply the double end casing and fruit it as a cake!

Since you only have one cake, I say fruit it as is. I'd just try to gets some fruits, for a spore print, so you can start over and work on your contam problem.

I agree with everyone else also.

1. This is your first time, best to stick to basics.
2. You only have one cake, why risk it?
3. A cake will give you experience to move on with, and is slightly more forgiving.

agree with above idea of making a few prints..... then you can fuck around without having to rely on vendors.

Roll in damp verm and sprinkle it on top fo the cake...( kinda like casing but no crumbling! )

I think a strait verm casing is as basic as they come. Id case the little bastard. my friend had a much easier time with casings when he first started.
just get some verm put it in some water and microwave it for awile.
then let set for awile to cool.
my friend usually just pours cold water in and uses right away cause hes to paranoid to let set in the open air so long.
But anyways squeeze out excess water till it drips a little.
put small layer of dry verm in bottom of small dish.
next goes in the broken up cake.
then my friend just sprinkes the wet verm on top till is half inch think and valleyed.

then put in an aquarium or watever ur friends friend is using.
hope that helps.

dont fuk with the cake, case it

case it. It's one cake, you won't get much off it fruiting it as is.
