exactly how secure is Hushmail or Ziplip between individuals using the same email service? Is it comparable to PGP?

Thanks!

hushmail uses a method very similar to pgp, they claim they will be updating their system to accept pgp in the future. basically the message is completely un-breakable by brute force methods (they use like 130 byte number or something) so it would take on average a few hundred thousand years for a modern computer to break. the only way the messages would be intercepted and decoded is if they were able to "guess" your pass phase, hence gaining access to your private key. at which time they would just take the private key and combine it with your public key and decode your messages! so the whole point is, don't tell anyone your passphrase!! and make it something not easy to guess (long phrase with numbers and symbols)

hope this helps
