boO's strawberry cobbler

i acquired this recipe from a friend of mine in the US. due to the abundant amount of fresh strawberries in the marketplaces (1 litre of strawberries for roughly 2 USD), i made cobbler 3 times a week. it's a hit with friends and the other half...but personally i'm getting sick of making cobbler all the time :tongue:  :lol: :nut:

for the filling

3 cups fresh strawberries sliced
? cup white sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup of water
2 tablespoons butter

for the crust

1 cup flour
1 more tablespoon of white sugar
1? teaspoon baking powder
? teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon butter
? cup of whipping cream
baking pan and medium sized pot

Prheat your oven to 200C...i dunno what that is in F anymore since the REST OF THE BLOODY WORLD USES CELCIUS

FILLING- combine sugar, cornstarch and water. Cook over medium heat and stir constantly till it's thick and hot. Stir in the strawberries and remove the pan from the heat. Add the butter and mix around. Pour the filling into the baking pan.

CRUST- stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Blend in butter and cream. beat with a hand mixer till it's a bit soft and fluffy. Spread on top of the strawberry filling.

Cook for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is yellowish and golden brown on the tops.

you can if you want i've never tried, possibly it might taste good and it'll surely be 5 mins quicker to make...try it and tell me how it goes :smile:
