Hey guys, So i noticed there isn't a 4x4 thread this forum yet and was shocked! I thought it would be good to start this up and see the responses!
First off i've got my self a 2006 Toyota Hilux dual cab. Just bought it recently and havn't added any mods as of yet, but have just upgraded from a 1998 Toyota Landcruiser 80 series that was fully kitted.

Future mods include: Bullbar is first on the list! (can't wait to get rid of that ridiculous looking thing) 2" Lift kit Snorkel (going to settle with a cheap tigerz11 snorkel and fit it myself) and last of all the wheels at 265/75r16
and that is all for now due to my very shallow pockets!

Love the rams! Fell in love with them when I went over for a family visit to Canada. Not worth while to import one or to buy it here! Tax ruins everything!

Fully kitted or close to it? Haha I see the wife's is fairly standard, but that's one cool chick you've got there 4x4 together in matching jeeps!
Love the old school wrangler how long did you have that for? The lift looks huge on it!

thats grouse, how much has it all set you back? with the lift, how much did it cost and hows the quality on it are you happy? I dont think i've ever heard of zone?
I'm stuffing around with bullbars at the moment as i dont have money to go straight for an ARB bar but dont want to settle with some cheaply made chinese crap so i'm still waiting on people to get back to me!
Also how are the seat covers, i'm also looking for some that fit over the seat well with not too much overhang that will fold up under your back and just become annoying. I love the ARB covers but once again its just overpriced shit..
Where are you from anyway?

The lift cost around 400. I am happy with it. The shocks are wearing a little, but it still rides great.
I figure I've spent maybe 5 grand on all the things I've bought. The jeep came with the 4.11 gears, 4:1 low kit, lockers and and sway bar disconnect. I bought the Jeep new in 2007 for 25,000. It also has a lifetime powertrain warranty.
The seat covers are nice. They have faded on me, but I keep the top and doors off all summer unless it rains. so I expected it.

That's great pricing! Over here in aus it's just ridiculous pricing for 4x4 parts and there's no cheap way through it unless you sacrifice pricing.
My hilux is similar to the Tacoma I think back over your way, and over here the front ends drop down lower then the back so I'm looking at replacing the front coils and struts and just replacing the bushes on the back leaving the leafs there and hopefully it will fit out well. Just bought a snorkel yesterday for $89 so it's all coming together now!
How much is it estimated to cost racket to put it on the road? Or more likely off road haha

the tacomas all have that rake you speak of mang... its common across the board for pickups.. even my brother in law just lifted his tacoma and even after the lift it has the rake.. you can always put a levelling kit on it or you can keep it that way if you haul anything.

well i was thinking of putting the levelling kit on it, but my insurance company wouldnt cover me in that case, and i would still have to replace the struts making them longer or i would risk damaging the car if i was taking it 4 wheeling.
I've seen a car done up with just the front end and its levelled perfect and perfectly legal as well as being able to withstand any terrain so i'm leaning towards just getting the front half done

sounds like some messed up laws.
but yea.. the back is high enough for most mild stuff anyways so that may be your best bet.

yep very unlucky! officially we aren't allowed to lift our cars over a certain height as well as putting too wider wheels on it either.
The wheels can only go out to a certain length (like 1 inch on each side) of the standard factory wheels, so we have no room to muck around with either..

well you can get around that with rim backspacing.
do some research on that and you can actually tuck some wide ass tires on a truck and keep them in with factory fenders as long as the backspacing is correct.
and with the height.. i dont really have a loophole for that unfortunatly

yeh well thats my issue not the width. i cant fit bigger than 265/75r16 and they dont make wider in the same height so im stuck with a 265mm
