I started using agar heavily not too long ago for cloning and don't plan to turn back. It's simply too damn easy. I feel bad for the dozen LCs that will probably never have a use.

I think I just started to get the tiniest little bit of growth on a couple plates! White fuzz, Yay!(: hahaha I really hope they don't get contaminated, what are some good ways I can prevent this??? Also, should I be putting water in these? They seem dry.....
Thanks for all of your guys' help!!!(: Couldn't do it with out you <3

I totally forgot about that, the beauty in transfer! haha And how hydrated do I keep the plates??? Like should I be putting a couple drops of water on them???

No the agar will provide the water. Excess water is an invitation for bacteria. That's why when using spore syringe to agar you only use a single drop and try to not let it roll around on the plate.

Has anyone on this thread documented growing with agar, and has *good* pictures of what it should look like at different stages, or know of a different thread I can find those at... I want to make sure everything looks right

see the top left? that's contamination, what you would want to transfer is healthy mycelial growth as seen at the other locations - but let it grow out at least 5-10 days before transferring to new media. You can continue to transfer as long as you like, but once you have clean growth it's ready for grains or your choice of proper media.
Pan. Cinct. introduced 6-3

Now go post pics in The Girls of Shroomery Thread

VERY healthy growth on one plate! YAY. Fairly good growth on a second, the others don't really seem to be taking. I varied the parts of the mushroom I used, Spores, base, gill ect. The two plates using the base of the mushroom are DEFINITELY better!!! I am soooooo excited... now how long do I let this grow before transferring to either a grain or bulk substrate of wood chips...? I can do either, any advice on this decision as well??? I'm kind of looking for quantity over quality, for the first time anyways :P ... I just want to grow them already!!! PS: No contams on these two plates are seen, should I still do a transfer???

Cinct will not grow from wood.
You should be focusing on quality and comprehension of what you're trying to accomplish, that isn't shining through right now
