I have been non stop except for a week here and there cause I got sick Slowly been working my way up on bench to 185lbs now which seems like it took forever without a spot to consistently help. I of course can do much more on machine like 235lbs. I would deff like to keep the same strength but shed some fat percentage which is hard for my body type and booze habit.

Does your gym have a power rack or a squat rack with adjustable safety bars? If so why not set the pins and bench in it? No need for a spotter. I would feel safer knowing the pins will save me if I dropped the bar over some random gym rat.

Dubz: the booze will kill your gains bro. Ild recommend seriously cutting back or quitting while you are trying to gain some bulk. Ya Benching without a consistent spotter blows. I almost dropped a bar on my neck luckily a bro walking by saw me struggling and the impending carnage and grabbed the bar before i hurt myself.
Cardio is your friend man. OLY barbell movements seem like they would burn a ton of calories as well.

Sooooo true. Booze, coke, and meth are the worst drugs to party on over the weekend when you are trying to gain strength. I've noticed if I take any of those, even if it's just ONE DRINK or ONE HIT over the weekend, I will be all fucked up in the gym for days after, and it will take me at least 4 days to go back to lifting the same amount as before.
Interestingly enough, I've noticed I'm really on my A-game whenever I've been a weekend warrior with mushrooms.

Yeah they do othyem I think there is only one though so its always in use there are a lot more just standard benches. Its great when you workout with someone that can really push you though that last extra bit and fun too. Though it aint always possible to workout together.

Edit: Reasoning behind no curls is they are isolation, I'm talking compound lifts for mass. Pulley pushdown now that I looked it up is a joke imo. I tray to stay away from the machines. Maybe it's time to start up skull crushers again idk.
You're just not doing the workouts for a long enough time. Your arms will grow just keep at it for a few months. You may see them "shrink" because you lose fat first but that's good because lean muscle looks way better than muscle surrounded by fat.

If you want BIG arms, your gonna want to do compounds & isolations. Don't limit yourself to only free weights. Also, triceps fill up most of the mass on your arms. Growing your triceps will make your arms overall bigger.
Imo one of the best mass builders for triceps is close grip bench press, no need to go too heavy - just focus on form and you'll get an amazing burn. Throw in curls too, even if just once in awhile.

lol, i've seen vids of people doing that on a bodybuilding forum. Personally wouldn't though.
I'm not really into lifting giant amounts of weight for one rep anymore. I used to be really into that shit a few yrs ago. I would take like 3 scoops of jack3d and get cracked out and do 1rms in the gym with my buddies. Hahaha, so funny looking back. Back then my best was 405 bench press x2. Squats & deadlifts 1rm in the 400-500 range. My chest was the strongest for some reason.
I've been injured doing stupid shit, and so did my friends, even the ones that compete and should know better. I now know that i'm not built to be a power lifter. I'm tall and have thin bones/joints .. so its just not worth it for me. Even when you think you have perfect form disaster can strike.

Injuries are apart of any sport and being tall doesn't make you any less Competitive you just need to weigh more.

Weigh more for what?? Whenever I was injured in the gym I was at my heaviest weight of 225 or 230lb.
I just meant my body type is not short and stocky with thick bones/wrists/joints/knees etc. the 'endomorph' body type most seen and associated with power lifting.. genetically i'm not meant to be a powerlifter and have come to terms with that.
These days I feel healthier, stronger, and overall look/feel better at a lower body weight with lower bodyfat.
To clarify with my last post where I mentioned even the friends that compete, I meant bodybuilding shows (NPC, etc) and should know better than try to 1rm for chance of injury. I didn't mean powerlifting meets.

Saw you said you were 6'2 in another thread at that height you'd need to weigh a fuckload more. 6 foot plus is usually super heavy weight. Body type doesn't mean shit Stan efferding holds a world record raw total and was a skinny ectomorph.
You don't want to powerlift cool but there is no reason why you actually couldn't.

Yea it's a powerlifting secret that apparently almost every pro powerlifter does. They sniff ammonia fumes to help them get "in the zone" for like 10 seconds or so.

Lol you also forgot to mention that Stan Efferding is on copious amounts of steroids, HGH, designer peptides, Insulin and God knows whatever else these guys are injecting into themselves.. Therefor his natural ectomorphic body properties are pretty much thrown out the window. That 'fuckton of weight' toxic look you seem to refer to is 90% what and what amount of synthetic anabolic, androgenic, and HGH/peptide chemicals you take.
Take a look at the physiques of people like Serge Nubret or Frank Zane from the 70's. These guys worked out fucking 8 hours a day, starved themselves, and ate low carbs, with minimal chemical enhancement (compared to today) then compare them to all the Stan Efferding's that are a dime a dozen these days, even in commercial gyms with their grotesque proportions and turtled HGH guts. That shit is not healthy man. There is a reason guys like this have no hair and have to pin synthetic testosterone year around, not even to stay artically inflated, but also because they're nuts no longer produce any natural testosterone. They are completely hormonaly shut down. Without all the chemicals pumping through them they would have the hormonal profile equivilent to that of a 10 year old girl. But I guess shit nowadays is just about looking like a total freak.
Weigh a fuckload more at 6'2" for what??? I've already explained the health benefits i've witnessed personally by remaining lighter at a much leaner bodyfat. High body weight does not equal strength, size, or proportions. Most of the time it means you are just fat.
I'd rather stay this weight, maintain a natural status(not have to worry about my physical health, balls, and hair) and look like Lazar Angelov or Greg Plitt by working towards it the hard way.

So is every other elite powerlifter so what's your point? He obviously bests people with different Body types that are on the same drugs.
You could easily compete and do well in a drug free fed if you wanted to. Saying you don't have the body type is a weak excuse.
Also, I don't care about physiques, I am not a bodybuilder.

You mean *Disgusting Roider that will die before he hits 50

this guy is 230 and one of the best LB's in the NFL, would easily kick shrunken testes bro's ass too.
I was assuming the guy in question wasn't planing on years of steroid abuse. Otherwise, ya bro 300 lbs and 8% BF totally doable.
