Pereskiopsis spathulata damaged

So a few weeks ago two of my Pereskiopsis spathulata's were broken. I took the two 3-4in pieces as cuttings but wasn't sure on if I needed to add a bag and cover the wound from the "parent" or just leave it open to the air. They have so far just calloused/hardened up. Is their anything special I need to do? i.e. "humidity dome/bag?"

I'm pretty sure you can just leave it. I've done it with mine so far with no issues, but I only have several Pereskiopsis.

No special treatment needed. You can root the broken off parts.

A piece of plastic shot out from under a lawnmower and "decapitated" two, so I'm currently rooting them. Was a bummer because I was planing on gratfing a couple young Trichocereus Bridgesii to them. So guess I just have to wait a little longer since I want them to be developed good before hand.

Typically grafting to pereskiopsis cuttings is done when they are very small, right after they are rooted.
IME, Pereskiopsis is relatively indestructible and the smallest pieces will root, callous or no callous.
I almost never callous them when taking cuttings, and I've taken a shitload of pereskiopsis cuttings. I don't think I've ever seen a single one rot out, or even not root for that matter.

I like working with pereskiopsis stocks un-rooted. You must keep the humidity up and it takes a bit to learn how far you can push it...but its a lot easier working with stocks that dont have a bunch of roots hanging off them!

So you graft to them unrooted? What do you mean the roots get in the way? I don't see how roots could possibly get in the way...

I'm not worried about the cuttings hardening before planting, just the tops of the ones that were accidentally broken off. The tops are hard and calloused but have not shown any sing of growth. I didn't know if I needed to do anything with them or just leave be.

Will post a picture in 30min or so. Also, will include a few of my T. Bridgesii seedlings to see what people think about size to graft.

I can't enlarge those pictures right now, but from the thumbnails they look to be ready for grafting. I'm still new to grafting myself, but my second attempt at grafting took fairly easily when I tried it with a smaller seedling than yours on Pereskiopsis. I knocked it off the stock the day after it started showing new growth because I'm the greatest at grabbing things, though. Good luck!

Some might be too large to fit on top of the pereskiopsis but they look fine otherwise. Just pick ones that are roughly the same diameter as the pereskiopsis you intend to graft it to.

I like to work with really tiny seedlings like Aztekium and Strombocactus it helps out to be able to not have to worry about dropping soil all over, its just personal preference.
Examples of tiny seedling grafts:
Aztekium, Geohintonia, Strombocactus (starting to grow)
