How silly. Every mushroom starts out small. You should know this.

Would it make any sense to pretend that this photo of yours is pathetic,

when it's clearly just on its way to becoming something else?

No. It wouldn't make sense.

Nemmies I'm sure you saw the posts on the last 2 pages; let your colonized containers hang out for a while before casing!

Gongrats on your large stock of containers! You'll be glad to know they have MANY uses. I commonly use them for prints (stacked in the PC with foil rectangles inside each, with lids off next to them), 'petri dishes' (stacked and sterilized next to the agar, removed and poured in laminar flow, or simply pre-poured and PC'd 6-8 at a time), making spore solution, and obviously a myriad of home uses!

If you grow on "turds" , or coir , or straw ... Or lawn clippings , cardboard , cannabis , untold free plant stalk chipped , etc etc etc

And you grow several flushes of potent boomers and then you compost said substrate and incorporate it into your garden to make food... What are you wasting ?

New age growers speak of waste , and the shame that using animal feces brings to the hobby (like mushrooms growing on shit is the most unnatural thing imaginable), and yet what do these tiny pp5's add to ones food production for their family? Why should a "turd grower" or a straw/leaves/grass trim/brf/coir/castings user be made to feel ashamed as being from an old age and not part of the current narrative.

If you grow shrooms and share , the world is a better place. Why bother claiming you have the best, highest yielding technique ? Why can't you leave it at you have a great teknique, why does it have to be the best and bulks are a waste ?

The only issue I have with this tek as presented , is the hyperbole that it is the best and highest yielding grow system in the world. The second thing I don't dig is the presumption that growing on anything but straight cased grain is a waste, and that as Anne said , growing bulks is among the most least effecient/wasteful ways to grow. I say you're wrong , and there are many ways to achieve the end result of shrooms, including all grain, but you are handicapping the hobby if dictate anything other than all-grains are to be shunned as inferior  and wasteful.

Be happy about your works and advancementS , but leave off these boasts of having the best system in the world, and stop condeming bulks as "wasteful" and inferior.

Cheers to the "turd grower"
Cheers to the straw/coir/castings/etc etc grower
Cheers to the rgs fert grower...

Whatever you grow on, don't feel ashamed as being 'wasteful and not-new-age.

Rejoice in the fruits of whatever system you used.

^ you neglect power and energy entirely.
also, i use blue lights, no automation, and low PC times.

i seriously doubt, your green profile matches per yield.

the greatest handicapper of the hobby, is lack of sterile skill.

got a metals scan, a pesticide scan, a steroid scan,
a parasite scan,
and an antibiotics scan on that "manure'?

its beyond the scope of this thread, to be counting BTU's,
but it should be obvious, the power differntial involved.

we measure the entire grow. not just the parts.

Hey now.
If people want to grow more with less materials space work and expense, then they'll take note of the thread, which is why it's presented.
If they don't, like you InTheBiggun, then they won't and that's no problem for anybody is it? Why are you making it your problem then?

As far as what is "wasteful", there are no boasts involved, everything about energy waste posted here is factual and science based not to mention obvious. Surely you know what specific heat is?

Point is that it yields more with less, cutting out other parts of the process that reduce yield potential which is shown not boasted.

I never said it's "the best and highest yielding grow system in the world", frankly I hope there's one even better than this and I hope I see it!!!! InTheBiggun You're putting words in my mouth in the attempt to stir up some shit and it's not welcome here. Take it somewhere else.

I just wanted to say

that's way too much to read, from a quick scan I didn't notice anything too novel.

could I get a summary or is this just a "how I do's it" thread?

Sorry, nobody's making cliff notes for you.
After a couple months I may be making a simple version for beginners with simple lid mods and a skeleton of procedure, but for the reasons below I will always emphasize reading the full info if you want to know what you're doing and way.

No, and I'll tell you why.
1) I won't talk about how I do things without why; Frankly I couldn't have attempted to without a much more drawn-out thread about details to the info wherein. Looking at what the thread has been as-is, imagine what calamity the thread would have been without so many of those details already present.
2) All of the info is important and relevant to every facet of the tek. If you're not doing it as presented (or with only obviously minor variations like seed prep) and knowing why, then don't expect the likes of my results. From that angle it would have been senseless to post anything without everything.
3) Many peeps of these myco communities don't yet hold paradigms that would allow them to fully understand this grow approach and philosophy, so it's as perhaps more important to put all that across than the basic acts of the tek. Otherwise this might look like a straight-grain kind of PF tek but it is certainly not that! Not to mention, my paradigm on it would be questioned anyway.

Without the comprehensive info, the point cannot be put across!

Everyone, you too Anne, I simply will NOT tolerate that stuff in this thread. End it immediately.

It's a grow tek thread. It is about procedure.
If anyone has personal beef or whatever, take it to that person, or post it somewhere appropriate before I start notifying mods for rule5, this is for everyone. If you want to ask me a question about length or formatting, PM me. If you're curious as to if I'll be making a simpler version, ask me directly. If you mistakenly think I'm insulting or degrading anyone or their successes, correct your misperception and have a happier day.

The topic of this thread is SEED & PLASTIC growing procedure and the other contents of the original posts so we're going to leave it back at that starting Now.

I wasnt meaning to come off harsh, I had not even read the recent comments, was asking out of laziness because I know how to grow just fine.
a qp costs me about $5 to grow

how is it " more efficient"?

Why would I type it for you in new comments when it's posted right there and you said you skipped it? Would reading my reply about it here really be better for you than reading it already posted up front? I know you didn't mean to come off harsh, but you keep coming off lazy. It's seeing that guy who asks a question already answered several times before he took the time to look first.

It's more efficient with shorter sterilizations and no pasteurizations for the same results (or better) in less space with nothing ever thrown away until the squishy-eaten 4/7th-flush cakes are spent.

We all know how to grow "just fine", I knew how to grow "just fine" before as is shown, but now less effort & material does more in less space. It's much less difficult and didn't involve learning new things so much as unlearning things that are now useless to me.

^i see your interest in detail bislap.
mileage , would vary with skill.

my experience with this tek,
suggest you could beat that mark with ease.

grass seed is cheap.
id suggest, that up to a Qp,
who cares what methods?

this tek, is good for all sizes,
but is capable of serious scale also

these below , over 4-5 full flushes,
will do your size, at pennies in seed.

pic is pinning at about 28 days.

… yes I do get great results using bulk substrate methods, but I feel results are better from bottom-watered straight grains, and they're easier to quantify not to mention more efficient in every way I've seen so far.

So ... your take on it is that this system is "better" than any bulk system.

Quote:

But ya know what?
Even if I never got straight-grain yield to surpass bulks, even if they only tied, I would STILL use these methods!!!
Why?
… Isn't it obvious?

You say your system is better than any bulk , and that it surpasses any bulk way of growing (no matter the substrate) ... but you claim you've never , ever said you have "best highest yielding system". It just doesn't add up. In your zeal , you are disregarding your own words.

Damn straight you said you have a system that tops any bulk grow , and Anne has said that to many times to count.

My point ...  why brag that you have the best system and not just claim you have a very good system ? Why put people down to put yourself up.
