Agar hot pour method question, how to reach right temp?

I just finished heating my oatmeal agar in the PC but it seemed I was too slow to get it out of the PC
It has solidified again
How do you reach the right temp?
How do you reuse the agar bottle/store it/shelf life?
Unsure if I should PC it with the screw lid completely closed, or like with jars, unscrew the lid a bit, and put alufoil over
I PCed with lid unscrewed a bit+alufoil over, then screwed the lid when finished after some hours, when the PC had cooled
Thought about putting it in the oven to make it liquid again, but not sure if it might explode with the screw lid tightened

Hm seems I was a bit quick, the oven seems to have worked, at about 100-140C

Oven didn't work too well, it had huge clumps in it, probably from too quick heating (fan heating)
PCing it again
Couldn't find the hot pour tek anywhere, except short mentions of it, tried searching both forums and site
Not sure if I can PC it with the lid tightened?

My bottle is set up with a polyfill filter in the lid. (Its an old jack daniels bottle). I tighten it down.
As for how cool as soon as the pressure drops I take it out and set it on a cutting board and let it cool until I can just handle touching it with a latex glove on. Then start pouring.

In lab we use a hot water bath for the cooldown period, as well as keeping things fluid while working. We use ~48C (about 120F) water. You could probably approximate this with a styrofoam cooler and an electric kettle. Put the water in the bath, and weight the bottles down a bit keep them submerged and upright. Suppose you could just jam something into the styrofoam to prop the bottles up too if you prefer. Keep a thermometer in there and warm up the water a bit if it starts to fall south of that. Should let things cool slowly enough to avoid clumping, and give you more time to work.
