MS rye 1 qt spawned to straight coir 2 qt and like 2-3 tbsp coffee ground. Does this likely have some bacteria present? Also, I understand fruiting is still possible. Could I just cover this with bw and fruit? My rh is super high right now, gulf coast.

Don't cover the tub with bubble wrap...really bad idea for a mono, we've been over this
Esp with your high room RH, there is zero reason to bubble wrap or wax paper the surface. In a mono you should always be trying to increase FAE.
That substrate is fucked. Especially with the coffee in there, you certainly have a bacterial problem running rampant that's going to get moldy when you fruit it.
If you're looking to try anyways, you want to maximize your FAE to try to beat back the bacteria. The failure rate is pretty damn high though. With the added coffee that tub doesn't stand a chance

This is just metabolites. It happens in sterile culture all the time. (I should actually say occasionally)
You can verify if you want by taking a sample and looking through it. If it's bacterially contaminated it will be cloudy, otherwise it will be clear.
On pic 5 you can see clearly right through some of the drops, so it's not bacterial.
Usually this happens from too much heat or not enough air. Kind of odd to see it in a monotub like this.

Agreed, but I think there is some active bacteria in this substrate due to the very stringy single strand rhizo. But I would put money on this tub fruiting just fine, any takers? I would fruit this in 1-2 days.
Props to OP for not calling it myc piss.

Allright, I think this was from a suspect jar that I didn't want to transfer anyway. So no big loss here. It's not quite a monotub, just a tray, but my sgfc had something fall on it and it busted it to pieces. I just remember seeing someone that just covered with bubble wrap and fruited in open air.
Gah that first pic is awfully oozey.Quote:

I forgot to add it does get hot in this room too, like high 80's in the day sometimes. I will try to take a look in the scope thanks.

i'll put a print up on one flush
Two prints against it.
My opinion: No chance of a flush. Bacteria-laden coffee present.
Even if it fully colonizes, i bet it's just going to get hot and develop some wet bubble. (this is not my bet however- I am betting against a successful flush for whatever reason )
We doing this thunda?

Upon further inspection at 60-100x a droplet doesn't appear cloudy but looks to have some brownish specks.
I don't really have anything else going on, waiting on jars and hoping those masters were safe after seeing this colonize. So no go on just bw the top? I don't have a lid for this tray but I could still rig up minimono I suppose.

Never asked for one. I can get prints any time, though. So thanks, but no thanks.
