Brown Rice Medicinal Method 1

I thought I might share how I have been preparing my medicinals. (T.versicolor, G.lucidum, etc..)
So, I fill large filter patch bags with undercooked, steamed-off brown rice, a teaspoon of calcium carbonate, and pressure cook for 2 hours. These pics are beside a 5.5lb sawdust bag for size comparison.

Opened and inoculated with half-quart of rye spawn in front of the flow hood -

Colonized -

The block, which was slightly smaller than the sawdust block, weighs 9.5lbs. I let it consolidate for a few days to a week.
I take off the bag, and slice it up.

I throw slices in the dehydrator for a while, to dry it enough that it grinds in my badass blender.

And then, I spread out the moist granules on a tray, and bake on convection @200°F until it's bone dry.

Which I then load into jars.

The ground mycelium then gets extracted in two crock pots for 2-3 days, so that I have constant supply.

Which, I just drink right from the pot. It doesn't taste too bad!
When the pot is done, I sieve out the granules, and extract them with alcohol.

Awesome seems very practical. Would obviously be much faster than fruiting them all. Well done .

Very well done Versicolor! I like the idea of producing enough medicine to last a long time. Can you elaborate on your brown rice preparation a little bit? Also, do you use long grain or short grain rice?

Versicolor, have you tried this with any other species? Turkey tail and Cordyceps, perhaps?
