    #1829627 - 08/19/03 02:25 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

Hi , ive been some time searching for another way of inoculating the substrate other than with the syringe , ive heard about choping the mushies and leting it colonise the cake and then puting it in the blender or choping it and mixing it with more substrate so it recolonises teh rest , but i dont know if this is efective , i hope some one can give me a hand here , thx

go with syringes. The other types of innoculation techniques are extremely hard to do. And if you arent 100% sterile most likley it wont work out. But if you want to try another way I recomend liquid mycellum with honey. there is a tek I think on the faqs shroomery.org then click through the indoor grow links and find it somewhere in there. The chopping up mushrooms theory is bogus. It rarley works, and is to risky (contams) ect. But you can try it if you want!

if you have a flow hood and a spore loop or razor blade.. you can open the jar lids and just flick a few spore flakes in off of a print.

I haven't tried honey but my jar with golden corn syrup is growing like crazy. It's amazing to think of how far I will be able to stretch the print I have this way. I would strongly recommend syrup.

do you REALLY think if he had a flowhood, he would have problems printing and making syringes?? jees, you need to use some common sense, bro. Your advice isn't helping.

www.google.com Keyword: Flow Hood

They create a sterile flow of air in which to work in, thus eliminating contamination factor when working with contaminant susceptible mediums.

A innoculation loop would be used to transfer mycelium from one place to another.

Please look stuff up.  It all seems very strange at first, but you'll learn alot more if you see it for yourself instead of hearing it from someone, or having someone tell you to
read the  FAQ
:smirk:

> They create a sterile flow of air in which to work in, thus eliminating contamination factor when working with contaminant susceptible mediums.

Actually, they create a clean laminer air flow. The laminer (non-turbulant) air flow keeps airborn contamination from falling onto your work.

I'd say either description gets the job done
