Thus Spake Zarathustra
    #1828477 - 08/19/03 12:56 AM (20 years, 7 months ago)

In Deiymiyan's earlier post about the Starchildren and the Nephilim I mistook the 'starchild' for Nietzsche's Superman (apperently sometimes also refferred to as the overman) and in rediscovering where I had erred I also rediscovered a great story I hadn't read in quite some time...quite probably the only thing ever written by Nietzsche I've ever read. It's kinda long, but well worth the read:

http://ibiblio.org/gutenberg/etext99/spzar10.txt ~{online text version}~
http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/webbin/gutbook/lookup?num=1998 ~{page with zipped version}~

If anyone knows of any other online sources of any of Nietzsche's other works I'd love to hear about em  :smile2:

Beyond Good And Evil is available here:
http://www.authorama.com/beyond-good-and-evil.html

On The Genealogy Of Morals is here:
http://www.mala.bc.ca/~johnstoi/Nietzsche/genealogytofc.htm

On The Use And Abuse Of History For Life is here:
http://www.unc.edu/~wanol/engl11pf2001/nietzsche.htm

The Birth Of Tragedy is here:
http://www.mala.bc.ca/~johnstoi/Nietzsche/tragedy_all.htm

Thoughts Out Of Season is here:
http://www.ibiblio.org/gutenberg/cgi-bin....org/gutenberg/

There are probably others as well that are now in the public domain. I am rather particular about the translation so I still find it worth buying certain editions over the free stuff. Then again if you can read German, nearly all of his work is online (though the only single place that I found it posted at required you to log on from your school, library, or other subscribing institution: http://library.nlx.com/).

Nice links by you, and everyone else !

I have not really followed Nietzshe's work; I have only very recently even heard of him.

Incidently, I have a real neat quote by him I found very fascinating..

" There is always some madness in love.

But there is also always some reason in madness."

-- Nietzsche  [1844-1900]
