That's what i did @ my first try.... And it worked for me. Just do it using a glovebox or something. And 1 or 2 colonized grains are enough. Putting too much grain in it reduces its lifetime. The jars i put more grains in went bad before others... Use a glowebox... seriously.... You'll risk both the colonized jar and the karo/water solution otherwise...

he is asking about live mycelium on colonized grain . i think it be better to use sterile tweezers and just drop one grain in . peroxide is optional, but if working in the open air, just dip it in 3% h2o2 for a like one sec .
