i know many of you see it but there is little talk of it around here.
i'd like to hear some retrospectives you all have to offer in regards to the goo.
for the unenlightened goo is a sort of mushroom extract floating around the psychedelic scene currently.
i personally find the goo hits faster, with less body load, and the smoothness flows like a river.

Everclear, powered shrooms, a vessel to contain it and time to evap the alcohol off.
I believe the more common name for the extract is Blue Dragon.

Wouldn´t the psylocin + psylocibin oxidize a lot quicker when it is extracted from the mushroom cells?
They do function as sort of an barrier for oxigen.

Agreed, this sounds like a good way to waste a whole lot of mushrooms. You'd probably do best to store the extract in a refrigerator/freezer. I've never understood why anyone would go to all the effort of extracting psilocin/psilocybin into alcohol when it's naturally water soluble. I've never found drinking tea to be at all unpleasant, but hey different strokes...

OK well listen haters.
Don't make statements "this sounds like a good way to waste a whole lot of mushrooms" When you don't know jack shit. That's called an assumption, unless you have actually done the procedure don't spread misinformation. I find the yield to turn out fair and the final product is far superior to tea or mushrooms or chocolates.
Well you cook it down to a goo and roll it up into tootsie roll wrappers it looks like tootsie rolls too.
Plus you can carry like 300 doses in your pocket. Show me that with tea, chocolates, or dried fruits.
The extract remains potent for over 2 years keeping the freezer works great.

Okay, Rawtoxic, it still doesn't make sense though, because psilocybin is water soluble. Can't you do an easier extraction with water or a similar chemical?
Is there a way to extract pure Psilocybin or even cleaner psilocybin?

Unfortunately, I do not know the science behind it, ie how and why it works.
I just know a crock pot, some Everclear, tons of mush powder and some patience (time) makes a beautiful thing.
I believe this is the most concentrated psilocybin I have ever done.
Dosage in the 1/4gram levels has some very noticeable effects.

are you talking about blue honey? I think I remember seeing on the nook that u can throw shrooms in honey and the honey turns blue and tasty.

OK since I was taught the OLD FASHIONED way by another human (imagine that) so I can't link to a tek.
Anyways take mush powder, immense it in everclear/ethanol/methanol, cook it on low in the crock pot, reduce it to nothing but a goo on the bottom scrape up the goo and freeze.
Now questions.

Everclear (ethanol) is a polar protic solvent. This being said, psilocybin/psilocin are polar molecules. Therefore when you soak the mushrooms in ethanol it solves the psilocybin/psilocin as well as all of the other polar molecules. If you're going to go to this much trouble you may as well take it a step further and prior to the ethanol extraction soak the mushrooms in some kind of non-polar solvent (naphtha, chloroform, etc.) for a few hours, strain the mushrooms out and dispose of the solvent.
