Will more Americans be voting next federal election?
    #1827713 - 08/18/03 09:04 PM (14 years, 9 months ago)

What do you guys think? Are more of you Americans gonna get out there and vote in large numbers? Has all the crazy shit going down inspired people to feel like they want to have more say in choosing their next leader?

I think that Bush has been such an incredibly radical president, that people from both sides will turn out in record numbers to try and keep him in power/get rid of him.

I think the turn-out to vote will be less than last years.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

we should get a poll going, like 5 bucks to get in, up or down.

I'd vote up, just cause all the stoners who usually would never vote are going to get off their asses this year. you know only like .0001% of the pot smoking community even realized there where elections going on 3 years ago..

I think it will go up. On one side, there's people who feel Bush showed great leadership during 9/11, and feel that supporting him is synonymous with patriotism. On the other hand, the Iraq war, PATRIOT Act, and bad economy, among other things, have woken many people up to the shitty state of affairs we're in, and want Bush gone. We live in a fiercely divided nation right now, and I think that'll show during the election.
