warrior class mycelium

I have a cake in a jar that used to have a big green spot on it. I segregated it and after a couple of weeks it no longer has that green spot, its all mycelium. Im going to crumble this cake and case. If I find evidence of green mold on the inside, I'll throw it away, but if it looks clean would you agree that its probably OKAY?

I agree it's ok.

so do you suggest saving jars that get a moldy spot on them during incubation periods and hope the mycelium will fight it off? or just chuck them?

I've heard of cakes that overwhelmed contaminates and went on to produce. Saving them to see is a good idea though dont waste your time if the suspect growth makes gains against the mycelium. Once upon a time I read something about a jar of br with a colony of mycelium on one side and a big yellow spot on the other side that eventually colonized everything in the jar.

Maybe just move them to another place, and wait an see.
I always do this and some you win, some you lose.

With wood lovers on wood chips its always a good idear i.m.e
to wait and let nature take its course, but on substrate such as
brown rice and other grain's the contam will normally win the battle :-(

I have a little jar sitting in my new tupperware. Two months ago it got injected with spores. Then, went on to withstand 100+F. for over a week. Two weeks ago, brought it out side and forgot about it... Went back, it was half mold, half glorious fuzzy snow. 20 days now, its killed just about everything else in the jar... Simply awesome... Suspected B+ strain.

Peace.

IEatPi314, do not eat the fruit!! The mycellium absorbs toxins and if you don't know what kind of contamination it is, it could be something deadly.

I plan on jar fruiting then taking a spore print. Id rather prolong the process then kill myself. But, thanks for the warning.

Peace.
