Got a problem with it?
Why?

I don't have a problem with gay marriage any more than I have a problem with marriage in general

Being 46, I was raised in a different time than many of you. Gay marriage just seems strange to me.

Having said that, there is no reason gays shouldn't be allowed the same benefits and detriments as straights.

Well you have 3 choices in the entire world to live in a 'free' country then. I have no problem with it either. I think if they called it a civil union instead of a marriage more people would not have a problem with it.

Ya, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Canada are pretty much the freest countries in the world. They're also soft on drug laws and prostitution laws, among other things.

True, but you sure don't see mass quantities of people migrating to these countries. I guess we must concede that the majority here don't want the laws changed in the US.

Actually, from what I've heard from talking to a Dutch guy I met once, the Netherlands is experiencing lots of immigration.

I think the government should have nothing to do with marriage. No marriage license, no marriage benifits and no state sanctioned marriages.

I do however think homosexuality is morally wrong, but they should not be hated or persecuted in any way.

Netherlands does have lots of immigration, mostly from the middle east. Ditto Sweden.

As compared to the number of people that try to come to the US every day?

You have to compare it on the basis of country size and population. Sure, the Netherlands doesn't get as many immigrants as the U.S., but it's also a much smaller country. On a per capita basis, I wouldn't be surprised if the Netherlands has an even higher rate of immigration than the U.S.

That would be an interesting percentage to find out. Of course we would have to guess on the number of illegal imigrants coming to the US every single day. I would love to live in the Netherlands, for a couple of reasons. One big one really keeps me from it though. They tax the piss out of everything. A good internet buddy of mine lives there. He is considering leaving because of the high tax burden.

HAve you ever thought it odd that as a young jackass you can still breathe with your head up your ass?

And what's even more odd is that someone my age got past racism, and you seem to embrace it.
