Panaeolus cyanescens: Red Down Under Question

Hello there, Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been growing cubes for a while now and gourmets more recently, but now I've decided to try my hand with Panaeolus cyanescens. I've never needed to post before because I always make good use of the search function, but I haven't been able to dig anything up on this particular question of mine, hence my very first post.
I've heard the adage "a cube is a cube (with the exception of PEs)" many times before, so I'm assuming that a pan cyan is a pan cyan (unless there's another exception I'm not yet aware of). So I figured I would just start with one of the more popular strains, which led me to Australians since people seem to mention them more than Jamaica, Hawaii, Thailand, etc. I did however see that one of vendors I'm looking at purchasing from has both the "regular" variety of Australians and a "RDU: Red Down Under" variety. I like the look of the RDU cyans, plus I read a post by Workman where he said they tend to be poor spore depositors, which I also like because spores can be a pain in the ass clogging up my humidifier and dehydrator. I'm also looking at Jamaicans because I also read that they tend to give a more even pinset.
My question however is this: if I do a MS grow from a RDU print, will all the fruits in turn be red spore depositors? Or because I'm growing from MS, would I get a mix of RDU & normal fruits?
And while I'm here, do any pan cyan growers want to throw me a bone and link to some of their favorite/most helpful posts re: the cultivation of pan cyans? Yes there's a crapload of information using the search function, but there's also a ton of useless, outdated, or just plain wrong info you have to sift through to find that occasional bit of gold, especially it seems for pans.
Thanks guys, grim

I'm not familiar with the RDU cyans, but assuming they're similar to the Redspore and Rust cube strains, if you use MS, the end result may produce a mix of fruits that yield regular spores, red spores, and sterile fruits. I'd assume cloning via tissue would be the best way to ensure more red spore producers after the first batch.
They are not that much more difficult than cubes; you can try a modified PF cake substituting some manure for the verm and case them afterwards, or do it with grain and follow the usual procedure using manure based substrate. Just be gentle with them since the mycelium is pretty delicate.

I didnt have very good luck with ms and the cyans. I have read that an isolate will fruit better than ms. Im in the process of isolating on agar hope this helps.

Interesting. That's kind of what I was expecting, a mix of red & black, didn't think about sterile fruits though. I was planning on WBS to horse manure/coir/verm/gypsum at a depth of 1"-2", as I understand that they like a thinner sub than cubes. I only want to work with MS long enough to get a couple good grows and pick a few nice fruits to clone. Hopefully all goes well and I'll have some pics to post of my grow.

Here's one of my RDU grows from the Just As Easy As Cubes Series. They grew in cubensis conditions and printed just fine, all redspore.

Damn that pan trop grow is beeeautiful. Now all I'm turned around because I was positive I wanted to grow cyans but so far I haven't seen a pan cyan grow with such a nice pinset...at least not the MS grows I've seen pics of here n there.

Stonesun: sorry I can't see the link you posted. I'm a few posts shy of viewing journals. I'd really like to see it however, I've seen a couple of your grow log posts on Ps.galindoi and I'm envious of the grows you've done. I guess I'll just dick around and post until I can reach that link.
