Very nice.

In the background (Boletus edulis photo, upper right corner) you also have a cluster that looks like Pholiota squarrosa, which usually smells strongly of garlic. Don't eat those, a lot of people get very sick if they do.

Nice bolete button.

Of course, unless you did microscopic examination of at least the spores on the Russulas, those IDs are very provisional. There aren't many Russulas that can be identified without using a microscope.

Those are some nice Leccinums. We had about 6 species of them yesterday at the Fair, so they might or might not be L. aurantiacum.

I'm pretty sure that the next one is not Hygrophoropsis olida. Yours look too big and too brown. They tend to be small, pale pinkish mushrooms with a strong odor that reminds me of bubble gum. I'm not sure offhand what yours are.

Gomphidius oregonensis is a definite possibility on the last one. I usually call the Gomphidius I find that look like those Gomphidius glutinosus, unless they're growing in clusters. There were some Gomphidius brought into the Fair yesterday that were confirmed to be Gomphidius glutinosus (although that doesn't prove anything about your specimens). The best way to tell them apart is to look at the spores. The spores of Gomphidius oregonensis are much smaller than those of Gomphidius glutinosus.

Looks like you had a pretty successful hunt.

Happy mushrooming!

Thanks for the comments fellas.

Toxicman, glad you took a look, as always your comments are welcome and appreciated.

This trip the woods were very shroomy, nice and wet. My significant other actually got excited about picking, so it looks like well be joining CMS for some fall forays and sharpening our taxonomy skills. Im glad shes onboard, makes life alot easier for me....;)

Thanks for the id comments, we were working for Lincoff's audobon guide, and are not very good with it yet. We will be heading back up a week from friday for another weekend foray, if you or any of your people are interested pm me and ill give directions to where well be.

There were loads of Boletus edulis buttons just pushing thru, it seems they are getting a late start this year.

You should also check out the Pikes Peak Mycological Society. Their Fair is this next Saturday. I won't be there because I'm leading an official foray for the CMS folks.

I gotta put my photos in order to do my report on the CMS Fair. I spent the last several days mostly in the woods collecting mushrooms so I haven't hardly had time to do more than pop in here for a glance.

Nice Boletus buttons. They're popping up pretty good around the state right now.

Happy mushrooming!
