I'm sorry, but I have to agree with jewunit here. I see maybe a line or two which is vaguely, faintly, barely suggestive. Nothing I would be shocked, in the slightest, to think a 12 year old had come up with, themselves.

I have known 12 year-olds who have written racier things.

I was a 12 year old kid in the early  90's. I listened to Cypress Hill and jerked off to hard porn. Apparently 12 was a very different year for the two of us. And that's just how life is. Not everyone is the same.

Was their lifestyle influenced by the rap thing? Maybe. But what were these guys' origins? Were they suburban kids, or city kids to start with? Because if they were city kids... it would be easier to say that they might have been influenced in that direction anyway... 12 year old kids in cities are in gangs now, selling crack and shooting people for fuck sake. If Criss Cross came out today, I can almost guarantee their sound wouldn't be as family-friendly as "Jump."


Anyway... addiction is something that goes way beyond city life, way beyond the fast life of an entertainer / musician. Addiction is common to all types of people, with all kinds of lifestyles, in all walks of life. He didn't need to be a one-time star to go out this way. He could have been anybody. We're just hearing about it, because he sang "Jump" as a kid.
