Is there a Psilocybe makarorae DNA sequence available?

Do you think Psilocybe makarorae would grow in southern Victoria?
does the climate differ much to what you have in NZ?
Do you think they possible are growing in Australia (doubt it)?
I realize spore prints are near impossible to get but could a tissue sample be used to grow it in suitable substrate/location?

Great pics!!! How did you do the lighting in pic # 1?
If you haven't run that Pholiotina through the key in FAN 6, give it a try, there's a few Pholiotinas which look like that out there.

Yes, I believe they are, I observed blue staining sclerotia in the field.

At present I don't believe there is a sequence but it will be available soon.

It probably could if introduced, it will fruit in a wide temperature range, yes, it could possibly be in Australia but I doubt it. Yes, a tissue sample could be used to grow it in a suitable substrate/location, example linked below. Psilocybe makarorae- Tissue culture and multispore culture.

Hey, thanks Alan The first one, the bolete, I almost didn't even make a photograph of that one, I walked past it three times before I decided to do it and I'm glad I did, beautiful colours. For the lighting I used two reflectors, the natural light was coming from behind the specimen so the reflectors are positioned at an angle on either side of the specimen, the flash is set on the lowest setting, the shutter speed was 1.3s at f/18.
I haven't looked at the key for the Pholiotina, I'll give it a try, it may turn out to be something else.

You take fantastic fields photos, you should post them more often. Do you use improvised reflectors or do you have a product to recommend?

Thanks Gravija, I would post them more often if there were fungi around to photograph, our last two seasons have not been good, we are in the last month of Autumn and it still feels like Summer.
I use improvised reflectors, I glued some crinkled up aluminium (aluminum) foil onto some rigid plastic for diffused light, they work well.

Whew, my silly ignorant American self wouldn't have known what you meant without those parentheses!
Seriously though, very nice shots. The close-up on the volval remnants of the A. muscaria is great! So much texture, and it really looks like snow or small ice crystals. The very first photo as everyone else has said is just
