post dunking contams....

ok, so i had a first flush. i dunked the cakes in for about 10 or so hrs. my cakes are now producing large mushrooms. but one of my cakes are contaminated with a blue/greenish gel looking thing (any clues?)and one cake that was producing fine spit out a black stemmed mushroom with a nice cap but the rest on the cake are fine. so when dunking how can you reduce the likelihood of this happening. i followed all sterilization techniques in the faqs and this still happened. also, seeing the drastic change in size, do most people dunk before the first flush? reason i ask is because this flush is producing less mushrooms but they're larger? so quality or quanitity? thanks

I've noticed a bit of green on two cakes after dunking as well..

not too bad,so i scraped it off with an h202 dipped q-tip and took a new q-tip dipped in h202 with some table salt and spread it on the area.. seemed to kill it, and in fact mycelium is growing over the area now.
